I have asked U.P.C people this and nobody knows the answer...You don't believe in the trinity. Then who was Jesus talking about when He mentions His Father in Heaven? Who was He crying out to on the cross?

@silentfades I do not attend any organized meetings of Christians. I find my faith is best served away from such. We do endeavor to fellowship with other Christians from time to time as the opportunity arises.

I was a member of the UPC sect from about age five. About 33 years later, I stopped reading the Bible to fit beliefs that had been drilled into my mind through the years, and began reading it to learn what to believe. It was then, combined with prayer and a sincere opening of my mind, that God began to reveal to me the real truth in His Word, and I was able to break free from years of bondage and untruths, and now live in true Christian freedom, having salvation by faith alone in Christ

Hi, I am Angel. I have converted to Pentecostal faith. I was a Catholic. Being a Catholic I realize there was a lot of confusion and my questions that I asked. The people looked at me crazy! So I had a friend that is a Pentecostal, I realize that the truth was answered. I asked all the questions that was on my mind. I am considered a "baby Christ" They should me show me things in the bible, that is what I was looking for. Honestly, the Catholic faith doesn't use the bible in mass or service.

I used to go to a charasmatic pentecostal church and was in a family that went to thses kinds of churches. It has left me scarred for life now that I realize it is rubbish. the memories are horrifying..

@MsDezzyzRayz ...but it is our job and duty as Christians to profess what Jesus did for all. And the whole trinity/oneness argument. Even if the trinity is true, God the Father told you to follow Jesus and take Him as your Lord, God, and Savior. So you gotta think of Jesus as your Lord and God anyway.

@MsDezzyzRayz And let's say that tongues is babble...yet Paul clearly states that speaking in tongues is communication between the believer and God. Thus, as long as you know what is coming out of your mouth God knows what you are saying...we have put an "emphasis" on speaking in tongues...but Catholics do the same with confession, Baptists with emerging the whole body into water, Methodists with evangelizing to others...the good people must follow down their path to righteousness...

Your actions (the manifestations of gifts given to you by the Holy Spirit) after saying you believe will point you down the right path.

@MsDezzyzRayz How do you explain how several people call Jesus "their Lord and God" in the bible then. Okay let's entertain this idea that Jesus and God are not one. We are to follow Jesus, yes? But God Himself said in the second commandment, Thou shall have no other gods before me..Speaking in tongues is not an ability that can be "learned". You can't learn a gift...I agree that we should follow the bible more so than a doctrine...(end of first part)

@MsDezzyzRayz Okay I got this one...yes speaking in tongues IS indeed a real language...however it does not "give" you the Holy Spirit. Pentecostals (UPCI) and Apostolics (PAW) believe this gift to be the initial evidence that the individual has received the Holy Spirit. Now, there are other gifts that an individual can have to prove his/her credentials as a Christian. But an Pentecostal/Apostolic believer would truly believe that God is no respecter of person.

Baptism is accurate per Acts Ch.2 v38 for the Keys of Salvation was given to Peter which spoke that verse.

Actually if you look at the Pentecostal church movement it began on the day of Pentecost. Yes i am Oneness and read Isaiah Ch.9 verse 6 which states that Jesus is the Father and the Prince of Peace meaning the Son then being two are one in different times.

So, the least of the gifts which is tongues which is a Real Language gives you the holy spirti?????????????????????? Good people that I have come across in my life don't speak in tongues so I guess that they are just good people and will go to hell because they did not get the least of the gifts. Tongue has a meaning and it is a language. Babble is NOT a language. Trinity is the only way because Jesus sits next to God. That would be hard to do if they where the same and one person.

How can Jesus sit beside God if they are one. There is a trinity. They are not one. Tongues is a known language gift to learn multiple languages. Pentecostals are a cult and they are a very hard hearted cult. Anytime you follow doctrin more than the bible then your just like the Catholics. DOCTRIN DOCTRIN Read the bible and follow it. The holy Ghost is breathed into you as God said that you have been born again if you believe in Jesus Christ. Not if you fall on your head and babble.

@NewWorldBeat Everything I was taught when I was in church taught that if one had faith, one would take the steps to obtain salvations. So it was therefore it was still being saved by faith but faith is express by works.BTW, after that phrase on that website it says "The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried,and rose again.We obey the gospel (2 Thes 1:8 1 Pet 4:17) by repentance,water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I must admit it is sad to see a young person who had such a wonderful experience initially lose touch with the reality of what God gave you when you reached out to Him.
